San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas: MEXICO

After missing an overnight bus from Oaxaca to San Cristobal, we finally left Oaxaca and got the bus for the following night. Oops! San Cristobal is a bit more elevated so the climate was perfect, not too hot during the day and chilly at night, good for sleeping. We went bike riding to some local towns, and saw a truly beautiful canyon filled with crocodiles. The town was filled with delicious restaurants, friendly people and mixed with both locals and foreigners. Even I wanted to stay and call it my new home... Time will tell.

The church in Chamula, the indigenous town next to San Cris. The church has no benches inside. One walks in and sees the mix of traditional culture mixed with post colombian Catholicism. People praying on the floor, shamans, chickens and saints. No photos, so this is as good as I could get.
