About Me

My photo

I´m Michelle and I am traveling in Latin America. I have always wanted to travel here and I finally left my home in Boston, MA in July 2013. I have been traveling since then, working here and there and continuously realizing that the world is filled with opportunities for exploration. I hope to travel for a long time but I always find a cozy place to stay for some time. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions I am more than happy to take you up on them. Live long, travel far, love often.

Oaxaca: MEXICO

Oaxaca is truly a magical place full of culture, delicious food and nice people. I felt like I was staying in a town that was in the city. We saw the ruins at Monte Alban, an ancient tree in Tule and of course watched the World Cup. Unfortunately Colombia disqualified in the octavos, my Colombian friend was, to say the least, a bit upset.
Spices in the local market.
Hey, where's the beef?
Veggies!
Mezcal, with snake.
Ruins from Monte Alban.
More ruins, it really impressed me the skill these people had to make such intricate designs out of a piece of stone.
Sacrificial remnants.
Monte Alban. Credited as being a work of pure genius in city-state constructions.
Monte Alban.
Monte Alban, built high on a hill.
Making tortillas. This machine flattens the delicious Mexican staple.
El Zocalo in Oaxaca.
Arból de Tulé. 2000 years old.
Part of the trunk.
There are animal shapes in te tree, can you see?
Ruins in Mitla.
Una señora making a shirt. She told me it takes her half a year to make the shirt.
Which I bought, however, I don't think it takes half a year to make, I later found out. But still look how little she is, and she made the shirt herself.
Locals in El Zocálo.
