Cusco, PERU: MACHU PICCHU...Finally made it!

Us ladies arrived in Cusco and we were looking forward to planning our next big adventure: The Chu. We found a great tour that for four days took us trekking throughout the Inca trail(kinda) and to one of the seven wonders of the world. Of course, I came down with a case a altitude sickness so I was sick for pretty much the whole trip. However, that didn't stop me from trekking through parts of the jungle, wearing some face paint like an Inca, eating coca leaves, dancing traditional dances, enjoying hot springs, biking down hill, zip lining, dancing and finally climbing over 1700 steps to see Machu Picchu at 4 am.

Pretty rocks in river. (I also went rafting and did a lot of trekking and even zip lining, but my camera deleted half of my photos).

Finally, made it to Aguas Calientes, the start of our long journey up to the Chu.

The night before, 430am everyone lines up to cross the bridge to start the trek up the 1700+ steps. It was very exciting. Everyone was flashlight ready, Thanks Harry!!

Very cloudy in the morning, but it was amazing as the sun started to pop up and you could see what was in front of you.

The Chu, about 6:30am, cloudy still but amazing. The feeling of finally making it to the top was something I'll never forget. I was a sexy llama!!

aqueducts on the Chu. The Inca were so smart about fitting into their environment, they built into and around it without disrupting much of the natural landscape.

They had few tools to shape these stones soo perfectly.

The Chu is surrounded by mountains galore. It truly is a special place.

The infamous profile. Look closely and you can see from right to left the forehead, nose, lips and chin. Looks like an Incan.

Last night in the Chu, we took the Peru rail back to Cusco.
